Documenting human losses, camps and other detention facilities in the wars of the 1990s in the former Yugoslavia is the most important support for the fulfillment of RECOM’s mandate. The aims of the project Human Losses in the Wars Fought on the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia are the creation of a reliable database of human losses in connection with the wars in Kosovo, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (B & H), an online Registry of Human Losses and the publication of the Kosovo Memory Book (KMB), containing narratives about individual victims. The objective of the project The Mapping of Camps in BH is to identify and document all detention facilities, in which prisoners of war were held lawfully, and in which civilians were unlawfully detained, and to list of names of prisoners who were killed or died during forced labor, and of those who were subjected to torture or inhumane treatment.
